It's hard to spell when your head is in a vice.

Of all the posts this week, perhaps this one has the most truth.
This is why very few spelling bee contestants compete with their heads in vices (or vises, if you insist).
according to dictionary.com
vise also vice
n. A clamping device, usually consisting of two jaws closed or opened by a screw or lever,
Both are correct. Bah!
It's hard to look in dictionaries when your head is in a clamp.

Last night when I was brainstorming for my post on vice, I was trying to work in something about vices... or vises, if we must.
